Gospel & Gradebooks is a podcast for men in education who want to grow in faith, leadership, and life. Hosted by two Alabama teachers, Jamie and Timm, we share real stories from the classroom, lessons from Scripture, and practical strategies for navigating challenges with integrity and courage.
Each episode dives into the joys, struggles, and victories of teaching while exploring how God’s Word applies to our work, our relationships, and our personal growth. Whether you’re a new teacher or a veteran in the field, our goal is to inspire, encourage, and equip men to live boldly in the classroom and beyond.
Jamie grew up in rural South Alabama. After spending 14 years working for a private company, he felt called to education and made the leap into teaching. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Science Education from Western Governors University while working full-time and his Masters of Education in Learning and Technology. He now teaches Honors Biology in Alabama.
Jamie has been married to his amazing wife, Paige, for 12 years. Trusting in God’s plan, they adopted their daughter, Nae, in 2025. He is an active member of his church, leading an adult Sunday School class and volunteering on the Welcome Team.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Jamie enjoys spending as much time outdoors as his wife allows.
He and Paige are also passionate foster parents and advocates for Christian families opening their homes to children in need, sharing the Good News of Jesus with each child they meet.
Timm grew up in east Alabama and married his high-school sweetheart, Lori, 28 years ago. Together, they have two sons and two Doodles. He attended college on a tennis scholarship and graduated from Columbus State University with a degree in Marketing. After working in banking, sales, and transportation management, Timm felt called to education and has spent the last 16 years teaching in traditional classrooms, online, and even driving school buses.
An avid outdoorsman, Timm has hiked hundreds of miles on the Appalachian Trail, including both the Southern and Northern Terminuses. His love for travel, culture, photography, and helping others inspired him to launch his own travel business, 121 Travels by Timm, named after Psalm 121:8. When he isn’t teaching or organizing trips, Timm enjoys spending time with his family, attending church, and hosting small groups for fellowship and Bible study.
Timm and Lori are now full-time grandparents to their first grandson, Geno, and are thrilled to share this new chapter of life with him.
