Learn more about Dr. Jarrod Horne & Concord Baptist Church
Brother Jarrod Horne is one of my favorite people, not just because he is my pastor but because he approaches scripture from a truth standpoint. He genuinely believes that what is written is the Word of God and that we can put our hope and belief into that. Jarrod starts the conversation sharing his journey from being a high school English teacher to following his calling into full time ministry. During this, he shares how he felt God pulling him into the direction of ministry but still pursued his degree to teach because of the comfort in his own plans to the point that he found himself bargaining with God to pursue this calling part-time and continue teaching. However, one night, when Jarrod thought he would allow his wife to be the one to close that door rather than himself, he asked her what she thought of him taking over the children's ministry at their church and to his surprise, she responded that she had been waiting a month for him to ask her that.
The rest is history.
Jarrod then answers some light-hearted questions about favorite books, toughest sermons, and even answers some "fan" questions. He's blindsided by some old pictures (thanks to his sister working with both Jamie and Timm) and laughs about his questionable choice in hairstyle throughout high school.
